Roopangarh Fort, built in 1648 by Maharaja Roop Singh of Kishangarh, is a historic fortress located atop a hill near the town of Roopangarh in Rajasthan, India.
Strategically positioned to oversee and protect the vital trade route leading to the Sambhar Salt Lake, the fort served as a defensive stronghold and royal residence. It features a blend of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles, with sturdy walls, imposing bastions, majestic gates, and ornate palaces within its complex.
Over time, Roopangarh developed into a flourishing town known for its artisans and manufacturers. In 1999, the fort was converted into a heritage hotel that retains much of its original royal charm, including richly decorated interiors, vast royal suites, and panoramic views of the surrounding Aravalli hills and salt flats.
