Sakura Castle is the 17th‑century Edo‑period castle whose ruins now form Sakura Castle Ruins Park in the city of Sakura, Chiba Prefecture, Japan.

Built to serve the Tokugawa shogunate as the residence of the Sakura daimyō, the castle was a flatland‑style stronghold with multiple moats, earthen ramparts, stone stairs, and a large inner compound, but almost nothing of its above‑structure survives today.

The present park preserves these remains—dry and water moats, earthen walls, and traces of the main keep area—while also functioning as a major seasonal attraction famous for plum blossoms in early spring, cherry blossoms in late spring, and autumn foliage in late autumn. The site is recognized as one of Japan’s Top 100 Castles and is closely linked to the historic castle town of Sakura, whose streets, samurai residences, and museums still reflect its Edo heritage, and it sits directly next to the National Museum of Japanese History, which occupies part of the former castle grounds.
