The fort covers about one square kilometer, with walls extending around 1.75 kilometers featuring bastions and gates. Although much of the fort is now in ruins and covered with vegetation, remnants like Pilajirao Rao Gaekwad’s mansion and a large reservoir remain.

Originally controlled by Bhil rulers and later captured and fortified by Pilajirao Gaekwad, Songadh Fort played a key role in regional defense and political control during its time.
