Speedwell Island, formerly called Eagle Island, is one of the larger islands in the Falkland Islands, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic, lying southwest of Lafonia, East Falkland, and covering around 51.5 square kilometers. The island features low-lying terrain, several permanent ponds, and serves as the largest in its group, which includes George, Barren, Annie Island, and the Elephant Cays.

It is well known for its rodent-free status, which supports abundant native songbirds, seabirds, and penguins, and is internationally recognized as an Important Bird Area because over 40 bird species breed there, alongside a notable South American sea lion colony. The island has a long history of sheep farming, which has led to some coastal soil erosion, but it is mainly valued for its significant wildlife populations.
