St. Mary's Island, also known as Coconut Island, is a picturesque group of four small islands located off the coast of Malpe in Udupi, Karnataka, India.

It is famous for its unique geological feature of hexagonal columnar basalt rock formations created by ancient volcanic activity millions of years ago. The island is surrounded by crystal-clear blue waters and pristine sandy beaches covered with seashells, creating a serene and visually stunning environment.

Visitors reach the island by a scenic 25-30 minute ferry ride from Malpe Beach and typically spend about an hour exploring its natural beauty. Known as the "Maldives of India," St. Mary's Island offers excellent opportunities for photography, leisurely beach walks, and watching stunning sunsets over the Arabian Sea.

The island is a protected natural reserve where visitors are encouraged to preserve its cleanliness and tranquility. The best time to visit is outside the monsoon season when the waters are calmer and ferry services operate regularly.
