Takhat Sri Kesgarh Sahib in Anandpur Sahib, Punjab, is a deeply significant Sikh shrine where the Khalsa Panth was founded by Guru Gobind Singh in 1699 on the day of Vaisakhi.

This event marked a transformative moment in Sikh history, establishing the Khalsa order with its distinct identity and core values of equality, courage, and devotion. The site, originally founded by Guru Tegh Bahadur in 1665 as Chak Nanaki before being developed into Anandpur Sahib, served as a fortress and spiritual center.

The fort complex, completed in 1699, is noted for its grand architecture including an imposing dome, a marbled quadrangle, and a collection of weapons used by Guru Gobind Singh. It was designed not only as a spiritual sanctuary but also as a stronghold against Mughal and hill chief attacks during the early 1700s, remaining unconquered despite sieges.
