Tenjin Beach
Japan, Japan
Tenjin Beach (Tenjinhama) is a scenic recreational beach on the northern shore of Lake Inawashiro in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, popular for swimming, windsurfing, and camping.
It holds historical significance as the site of Japan's first Boy Scouts camping trip on August 18, 1925, attended by Crown Prince Hirohito and Prince Chichibu. In winter, strong winds create striking natural ice sculptures along a 1-km stretch, drawing photographers, while the adjacent Kobirakata Tenman-gū shrine honors the deity Sugawara no Michizane.
