Vishalgad, also known as Khelna Fort, is a historic hill fort perched at about 3,600 feet in the Sahyadri mountains of Kolhapur district, Maharashtra, India, roughly 80 km northwest of Kolhapur city.
Built by Shilahara ruler Bhoja II in the late 12th century and later captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1659, it became a key Maratha stronghold famed for the heroic Battle of Pavan Khind where Baji Prabhu Deshpande sacrificed his life to protect Shivaji's escape.
