It is famous for its striking white chalk rock formations, which have been shaped by wind and sand over millions of years into unique shapes resembling animals, mushrooms, and other natural sculptures. The park's bright white landscape creates a dramatic contrast against the surrounding golden desert, making it one of Egypt's most distinctive natural attractions. Visitors come to experience its breathtaking scenery, desert camping, stargazing, and exploration of the surrounding dunes and geological formations.

The area is also home to a variety of desert wildlife adapted to the harsh environment. Protected as a national park since 2002, White Desert National Park is celebrated for its extraordinary beauty and offers a memorable glimpse into the unique landscapes of Egypt's Sahara Desert.
