Yamada Gusuku Ruins are the remains of a 14th–15th century Ryūkyūan gusuku (castle) on a narrow, tongue‑shaped limestone plateau about 90 meters above sea level in Onna Village, Okinawa, on the west coast of central Okinawa Island.

The site was established by a branch of the Iha Anji family from Iha Gusuku in Ishikawa (now Uruma) and served as the home of the Yamada clan; it is especially famous as the birthplace and childhood home of Gosamaru, the legendary Ryūkyūan general who later helped King Shō Hashi unify the kingdom and built Zakimi Castle in nearby Yomitan, reportedly using stones taken from Yamada.

Archaeological excavations in the late 1980s showed that the gusuku was about 30 meters east‑to‑west and 160 meters north‑to‑south, with unpaved stone walls still visible on the east and west sides and a cave tomb on the northern cliff used by Gosamaru’s ancestors, marked by a monument erected in 1740.

Protected as a National Historic Site since 2008, the ruins are accessible via a walking trail from the nearby Stone Bridge Trail entrance and offer a quiet, scenic spot where visitors can see the remaining stone walls, follow the layout of the former settlement, and connect the site with other nearby landmarks such as the Old Shuri Road, the Onna Historical Park, and the famous coastal areas of Moon Beach and Cape Zanpa.
