Yorke Bay
Falkland Islands, United Kingdom
Yorke Bay is a stunning white-sand beach on East Falkland in the Falkland Islands, a British Overseas Territory, located 800 meters north of Port Stanley Airport and 6.4 km northeast of capital Stanley, connected by Boxer Bridge across "The Neck" isthmus.
Once heavily mined during the 1982 Falklands War to deter landings, it was fully cleared by 2020, reopening as a safe haven for over 400 Gentoo penguins breeding November-December, plus Magellanic penguins, sea lions, dolphins, and seabirds amid dunes and Yorke Bay Pond.
Easily accessible by a short drive or walk from Stanley, it offers pristine coastal views toward Port William and Canopus Hill, blending wildlife watching with historical significance.
