Al-Hamidiyah Souq is the largest and most famous traditional market in Damascus, Syria, located within the historic old city and leading directly to the Umayyad Mosque.

Built during the Ottoman era and stretching for about 600 meters, the covered bazaar is known for its distinctive metal roof and vibrant atmosphere. The souq is lined with hundreds of shops selling textiles, spices, jewelry, perfumes, handicrafts, sweets, and other goods, making it a major center of commerce and daily life. Visitors can also see remnants of the ancient Roman Temple of Jupiter at its entrance, reflecting the many layers of Damascus’s long history.
