Spanning 6.5 kilometers of walls with 140 towers enclosing 10 hectares, it includes 400 cisterns, the iconic Red Tower (Kızılkule), a Seljuk shipyard (Tersane), Ottoman mosques like Süleymaniye, and 19th-century villas, serving as a defensive hub turned open-air museum.
Accessible by cable car, boat, or steep paths, the site offers sweeping Mediterranean views and UNESCO tentative status since 2009.
