Anıtkabir is the grand mausoleum complex in Ankara, Turkey, dedicated to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the modern Turkish Republic, completed in 1953 after nine years of construction on Rasattepe hill.
Spanning 750,000 square meters, it features Peace Park with trees from 104 countries, the 262-meter Lions' Road lined with 24 marble lions symbolizing Turkish resolve, and a vast ceremonial plaza leading to the Monument Block.
The highlight is the Hall of Honor housing Atatürk's symbolic 40-ton sarcophagus under a 17-meter-high ceiling, with his actual tomb below amid gold mosaics, plus museums displaying his personal items, vehicles, and Independence War artifacts visited by dignitaries worldwide.
