Beaulieu Castle
Lausanne, Switzerland, Switzerland
Beaulieu Castle, or Château de Beaulieu, is an elegant 18th-century neoclassical château in Lausanne, Canton of Vaud, Switzerland, built between 1763 and 1766 by architect Rodolphe de Crousaz for Protestant pastor Gabriel-Jean-Henry Mingard as a country house with a farm and eastern wing, later unified by a central building and long facade.
It hosted notable figures like financier Jacques Necker and Marshal Victor Jean Perrin during the Mingard family's ownership across generations, before passing to the city of Lausanne, which transformed it in 1971 to house the Collection de l'Art Brut donated by Jean Dubuffet, requiring several renovations.
Recognized as a Swiss heritage site of national significance, the castle now serves as a museum showcasing raw art, overlooking Lake Geneva in a picturesque setting central to Lausanne's cultural landscape.
