Schloss Wyden
Ossingen, Switzerland, Switzerland
Schloss Wyden is a historic manor house in Ossingen, canton of Zurich, Switzerland, featuring a fortified tower from the High Middle Ages that originally controlled the Thur river valley.
Rebuilt multiple times over the centuries, it served various noble owners and later became the residence of Max Huber, a prominent international law professor and Red Cross president, who acquired it in 1903.
Notably damaged in 1944 when a stricken American B-24 bomber crashed into it during World War II, the castle was repaired and remains a cultural heritage site reflecting regional history.
