Bottmingen Castle
Bottmingen, Switzerland, Switzerland
Bottmingen Castle is a well-preserved 13th- or 14th-century moated castle located in the municipality of Bottmingen in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland, classified as a Swiss heritage site of national significance.
First documented in 1363 under ownership of the Kämmerer family, who served the Bishops of Basel and likely built it, the structure was rebuilt after destruction in 1409 and transformed into an early Baroque country manor in the French style around 1720 by Johannes Deucher.
After periods of neglect and major restorations in 1942 and later decades, it now functions as a venue for events, weddings, and gourmet dining in its romantic park setting surrounded by water.
