Burgruine Schwanau
Lauerz, Switzerland, Switzerland
Burgruine Schwanau is a medieval castle ruin on Schwanau Island in Lake Lauerz near the village of Lauerz in Switzerland's canton of Schwyz.
Built at the end of the 12th century with evidence of human occupation dating back to around 1200 BC, the fortress was likely destroyed by fire in the mid-13th century, leaving scant documentary records of its brief existence.
