Burgruine Witwald, also known as Wild-Eptingen or the younger castle, is a medieval hilltop ruin located above the village of Eptingen in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland.
Dating back to the 13th century as a seat of the Lords of Eptingen, it was first documented in 1398 and features remnants of walls, an entrance gate, a staircase, and a cistern, with an older predecessor ruin nearby.
Damaged by the 1356 earthquake and later transferred to the city of Basel in 1487, the site has undergone recent conservation efforts by the Burg Witwald Foundation to preserve its historical significance.
