Bužim Old Town in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a large medieval fortress dating back to the 12th to 14th centuries, serving historically as both a military stronghold and a noble residence.

It was known as Čava or Cavski grad and was one of the most important forts in the Bosnian Krajina region. The fortress features Renaissance architecture with elements of Romanesque and Gothic styles, surrounded by thick walls and towers designed to withstand artillery attacks. Throughout its history, the fort was owned by various noble families and later came under Ottoman control in the 16th century, who maintained a garrison there.

The site was multifunctional, including military, residential, and religious uses, such as housing a workshop for copying the Qur’an after the arrival of Islam. The ruined fortress today stands as a cultural and historical monument, offering insight into the area's rich past and military heritage, alongside nearby old mosques and medieval necropolises, all reflecting Bužim's role as a regional center of power and culture.
