Château d'Orbe is a medieval castle ruin dominating the town of Orbe in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland, with construction beginning in the 13th century under the lords of Montfaucon and Châlon as a strategic fortress overlooking the Orbe plain.
Largely destroyed by Swiss Confederates in 1475 during regional conflicts, it retains a prominent round keep from 1232-1233 and a square gate tower, both offering panoramic views after 19th-century modifications that created a public esplanade.
Classified as a Swiss heritage site of national significance, the remnants reflect Orbe's feudal past amid a landscape rich in Roman mosaics and early medieval history.
