Château de Champittet
Champ Pittet, Cheseaux-Noréaz, Switzerland, Switzerland
Château de Champittet is an elegant 18th-century neoclassical château located in Champ-Pittet near Cheseaux-Noréaz in Canton of Vaud, Switzerland, originally acquired in 1777 by François-Louis-Frédéric Haldimand and constructed around 1791 by architect Gabriel Delagrange as a grand country estate overlooking wetlands and Lake Neuchâtel.
The property later passed through notable hands before being repurposed in the early 20th century, including a period as part of the Collège Champittet boarding school founded by Dominican fathers in 1903 after fleeing France, blending its residential history with educational use.
Today, recognized as a Swiss heritage site of national significance (KGS 5990), it functions as the headquarters for Pro Natura, Switzerland's leading nature conservation center, surrounded by a vast nature reserve ideal for ecological education and exploration.
