First documented in 1358 as a fortified house owned by Guillaume de Visencier, it passed through noble families like de Charrière and was transformed into a manor in the 18th century by Alexandre Sales before being acquired by the Canton of Geneva in 1972.
Today, it houses the Museum of the Swiss Abroad, a military history museum, and expansive public parks with lake views, standing as a Swiss cultural property of national significance.
