Château de Saint-Prex is a medieval castle tower overlooking Lake Geneva in the town of Saint-Prex, canton of Vaud, Switzerland, built in 1234 by the Lausanne Cathedral Chapter to fortify the site against Savoyard threats, transforming the area into a protected island via a moat.
Only the prominent tower survives from the original fortress, which lost strategic importance after Bernese conquest in 1536 and served later as a salt store, while the filled moat and other structures vanished over time.
Privately owned and not open to visitors, this Swiss heritage remnant stands amid the picturesque old town with its clock tower gate and Romanesque church, symbolizing the region's feudal defenses.
