Château de Vullierens -Jardins des Iris
Vullierens, Switzerland, Switzerland
Château de Vullierens is an 18th-century French classical château in Vullierens, canton of Vaud, Switzerland, built between 1706 and 1712 by Gabriel-Henri de Mestral on the foundations of a 1308 medieval fortress originally constructed by Pierre de Duin.
Retaining medieval elements like two towers and ramparts, the estate has remained in the same family for over 700 years through marriage and inheritance, now owned by the Bovet family who developed its renowned iris gardens in the 20th century.
Recognized as a Swiss heritage site of national significance, it features manicured French gardens, a sculpture park, and panoramic views of Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, open seasonally for guided tours and events.
