The Church of Compesières, dedicated to Saint-Sylvestre, is a historic Catholic parish church in the village of Compesières within the municipality of Bardonnex in the canton of Geneva, Switzerland.
Christian presence dates back to the 5th-6th centuries, with the first documented church from 1270, when the Bishop of Geneva donated it to the Order of the Hospitaliers of Saint John, who expanded it in the 13th century along a pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.
Rebuilt in 1834-35 after earlier transformations through Reformation, Bernese rule, and French Revolution periods, it was restored in 1953-54 and 2005-06, revealing ancient foundations and now hosting cultural events with excellent acoustics.
