Dickwella Beach is a tranquil, peaceful, and large golden beach located in the small coastal market town of Dickwella (also spelled Dikwella) in the Matara District of Sri Lanka's Southern Province, about 22 kilometers east of Matara city.

This long sandy beach stretches approximately 2 kilometers along the southern coast and is largely protected by headlands, reefs, and sandbars, making it one of Sri Lanka's safest and ideal bathing beaches for swimming with calm, clear teal-blue waters. The beach offers stunning reefs along the rocks where visitors can snorkel and observe colorful reef fish, and it's a popular spot for surfing, swimming, and relaxing under coconut trees while watching local fishermen in colorful canoes row through challenging sandbars or enjoying spectacular sunsets.

Dickwella Beach is uncrowded and perfect for families with children since it's shallow, clean, and protected, featuring beach resorts along the shore that offer sunbathing chairs and hammocks shaded by palm trees, though the public beach itself has no shacks or eateries.
