The Grand Mosque of Bursa (Bursa Ulu Cami) is one of the most important examples of early Ottoman architecture and a major landmark in Bursa, Turkey.
Commissioned by Sultan Bayezid I after his victory at the Battle of Nicopolis, it was built between 1396 and 1399 and served as a symbol of the growing Ottoman state. The mosque is famous for its unique design featuring twenty domes, two minarets, a central indoor fountain, and an impressive collection of Islamic calligraphy that decorates its walls and columns.
As the largest historic mosque in Bursa and one of the city’s most treasured monuments, it remains an active place of worship and a significant cultural and architectural attraction.
