Grasburg Castle is the largest and one of the most picturesque medieval castle ruins in the Canton of Bern, Switzerland, located in Schwarzenburg on a dramatic sandstone spire above the Sense River.

Likely originating from an 11th- or 12th-century stone fortification built by Burgundian or Zähringen nobles, it was first documented in 1223 and passed through families like the Kyburgs, Habsburgs, and Savoy before Bern and Fribourg shared control from 1423, using it as an administrative center until abandonment in 1575.

Legends tell of Roman origins and a blood-mixed mortar, but restorations from 1902 to 1984 have preserved its towers, walls, and romantic overgrowth, making it a Swiss heritage site of national significance accessible by hiking trails.
