Gülek Castle is a medieval fortress in Mersin Province, southern Turkey, strategically positioned west of the Gülek Pass at 1,530 meters elevation to control passage between Cilicia and Cappadocia.
Primarily constructed in the 12th-13th centuries by the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia over earlier Byzantine foundations, it features bossage stone walls over 450 meters long on the south and west sides, protected by natural cliffs to the north and east, with a southern gate and remnants of towers.
