Oberried Estate
Belp, Switzerland, Switzerland
Oberried Estate is a Rococo-style manor house in Belp, Canton of Bern, Switzerland, constructed in 1735-1736 for Victor von Fischer, grandson of the Fischerpost postal service founder from a family documented in Bern since the 13th century.
Featuring a main building with elegant Rococo elements, formal gardens, and the canton's only surviving Gloriette pavilion added during later expansions, it escaped urban noise as a retreat for wealthy Bernese patricians.
Listed as a Swiss heritage site of national significance, the estate at Seftigenstrasse 118-120 underwent renovations in 2000-2001 and now hosts cultural events like concerts, theater, and dance performances.
