Rappenstein Castle is a ruined medieval cave castle hidden in the Cosenztobel gorge near the village of Untervaz in Graubünden canton, Switzerland.
Built around 1250 by the Tumb von Neuburg family and later owned by the von Mötteli family until 1450, it features tall stone walls with Pietra Rasa construction, narrow window slits, a high elevated entrance, and foundations spanning natural caves up to 15 meters deep across two levels.
Abandoned after its owners died out, the well-preserved remnants are accessible via challenging hiking trails and hold status as a Swiss cultural heritage site.
