Ruine Sandegg is the picturesque ruin of a medieval castle atop a hill in Salenstein, Canton of Thurgau, Switzerland, first documented in the mid-13th century as property of Reichenau Abbey and inhabited as early as the 8th century according to local chronicles.

The fortress changed hands multiple times through the 13th and 14th centuries, serving noble and religious owners before falling into decay by the early 16th century, later rebuilt into Schloss Sandegg around 1540 only to burn down in 1833 during renovations, with its remnants demolished and transformed into a scenic viewpoint terrace by the 19th century.

Recent archaeological digs ahead of 2025-2026 restoration works uncovered tower foundations and walls, confirming its layered history, while the site offers stunning vistas over Lake Constance and awaits public reopening as a preserved heritage landmark.
