Schloss Burgistein is a well-preserved 13th-century medieval castle located in the Gürbetal valley near Burgistein in the canton of Bern, Switzerland.
Built around 1260 by Jordan I of Thun to control local lands and trade routes, it passed to the Burgistein family, whose member Jordan III fought and lost in the 1332 Battle of Gümmenen against Bern, leading to its acquisition by the city.
The castle features a prominent bergfried tower, fortified walls, and a residential wing expanded in later centuries, now serving as a cultural heritage site with panoramic valley views.
