Schloss Buttisholz
Switzerland, Switzerland
Schloss Buttisholz is a late Gothic fortified residence in the municipality of Buttisholz, canton of Lucerne, Switzerland, built in 1570-1571 by patrician Leopold Feer and his wife Anna Elisabeth as a summer seat for the Feer family.
Surrounded by a 200-meter-long wall enclosing farm buildings like a barn, granary, and washhouse, it features a central Baroque hall with stucco decorations and family coats of arms, preserved Biedermeier interiors, and a grand staircase added in the 18th century.
Recognized as a Swiss heritage site of national significance, the privately owned castle underwent major restoration from 2000-2004, maintaining its original state for occasional events like concerts while including 50 hectares of land and nearby Soppensee lake.
