Schloss Eglisau was a prominent medieval castle on the left bank of the Rhine in Eglisau, canton of Zurich, Switzerland, likely built in the 12th century by the Lords of Tengen to control river traffic and a key bridge crossing.
It served as a customs station, residence for Zurich's Landvogte from 1497 until 1798, and expanded under owners like Bernhard Gradner in the 15th century before gradual demolition between 1811 and 1845 for road and bridge improvements.
Today, only the castle barn from 1630 and the nearby Lochmühle mill remain in a landscaped park with ponds, offering views of the preserved medieval town across the river.
