Schloss Reichenbach
Zollikofen, Switzerland, Switzerland
Schloss Reichenbach is a Baroque castle in Zollikofen, about 5 km north of Bern in Switzerland's Canton of Bern, likely built on the site of a Roman fort along the Aare River.
First documented in the early 14th century when purchased by Rudolf von Erlach, victor of the Battle of Laupen, it remained with his family until 1530 before passing to Beat Fischer von Reichenbach in 1683, who rebuilt it in Baroque style with French gardens, terraces, and a brewery for his Fischerpost postal service.
Recognized as a Swiss heritage site of national significance, the castle features historic rooms like the Rittersaal and now operates with a restaurant on its riverfront terrace amid preserved outbuildings.
