Schnitzturm is a medieval stone defense tower in Stansstad, canton of Nidwalden, Switzerland, built in the late 13th or early 14th century on an artificial spit projecting into Lake Lucerne as part of extensive lakeside fortifications including the Teller wooden blockhouse from 1206/07 and a vast palisade of 8,000 wooden pillars.

It played a key role in repelling attacks, notably during the 1315 Habsburg assault linked to the Battle of Morgarten where defenders reportedly hurled a millstone at enemy ships, and was renovated multiple times through the centuries amid repairs after fires, lightning, and invasions up to the 1798 French capture.

Now a heritage site of national significance with a 16-meter height, 1.4-meter-thick base walls, observation platform, and public access from May to September, it offers lake views and symbolizes Nidwalden's defensive history alongside nearby prehistoric pile dwellings.
