Šlokenbeka Manor is a historic fortified manor located in Milzkalne, Smārde Parish, Tukums Municipality, Latvia. Dating back to the late 15th century and first mentioned in records around 1484, it is considered one of the most unique cultural heritage sites in the country and the only surviving fortified manor complex of its kind in Latvia. Originally built as a defensive stronghold associated with the Livonian Order, the site later evolved into a manor estate with residential and agricultural functions. Over the centuries, additional buildings, towers, and a classical-style manor house were added within its stone defensive walls. Today, Šlokenbeka Manor is a restored heritage attraction that offers visitors a glimpse into Latvia’s medieval and manor-era history. The complex houses the Latvian Road Museum, features historic cellars, and provides opportunities for cultural events, dining, accommodation, and guided tours.
