Softa Castle
Turkey, Turkey
Softa Castle is a ruined medieval fortress located on Fidik Hill in the Bozyazı district of Mersin Province, southern Turkey.
Originally constructed in late Roman times as a pirate outpost and shelter for the nearby city of Arsinoe, it retained its ancient Greek name Sycae through the Byzantine era. In the early 13th century, Seljuk Turkish commander Atabeg Ertokuş captured it around 1128, and it later served the Karamanid beylik until the mid-15th century.
