Thielle Castle, also known as Schloss Zihlbrücke or Château de Thielle, is a medieval moated castle located in the municipality of Gals in Switzerland's canton of Bern, positioned along the Zihl Canal.
Constructed between 1270 and 1300 by Berchtold, Count of Neuchâtel, it was rebuilt in Gothic style from 1320-1325 and later incorporated Baroque elements, serving initially as a customs post and defensive stronghold over key waterways.
Transitioning from a Carthusian monastery site in the 12th century to a castle proper after the 1528 Protestant Reformation, it remains a well-preserved heritage structure today, blending architectural periods amid the scenic Seeland landscape.
