Tour de Saxon
Saxon, Switzerland, Switzerland
Tour de Saxon is a medieval tower ruin in the municipality of Saxon, canton of Valais, Switzerland, constructed at the end of the 13th century as part of a Savoyard fortress alongside a nearby chapel.
It served under the County of Savoy during the Middle Ages but was destroyed in 1475 following Savoy's defeat at the Battle of La Planta.
Today, the preserved keep stands as the primary remnant, offering a glimpse into Valais' turbulent feudal history amid the region's scenic Rhone Valley landscape.
