Tschanüff Castle
Switzerland, Switzerland
Tschanüff Castle is a ruined medieval fortress perched on a rocky spur at about 1,248 meters above sea level above the village of Ramosch in the Valsot municipality of Graubünden canton, Switzerland, on the edge of the Val Sinestra ravine.
First expanded in 1256 with permission from Count Meinhard of Tyrol to knight Nannes of Ramos, it features a five-story main tower and defensive walls typical of 13th-century alpine architecture, serving as a key landmark alongside nearby sites like Tarasp Castle.
Recognized as a Swiss heritage site of national significance, the well-preserved ruins are accessible via hiking trails and reflect the region's eventful feudal history.
