Tumlu
Turkey, Turkey
Tumlu, also known as Dumlu or Tumlu Castle, is a 12th-century ruined fortress perched on a rocky hill near the village of Tumlu in Turkey's Adana Province, about 17 km northwest of Ceyhan.
Built during the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia, possibly as a Byzantine stronghold, it features an 800-meter circumference wall with eight towers, first mentioned as "T'il" during the First Crusade and captured by Byzantine forces in 1137. The site reflects Cilician Armenian architecture amid the Çukurova region's strategic highlands, now a scenic historical remnant tied to local legends.
