Viharamahadevi Park is a large, central public park in Colombo, Sri Lanka, located in the Cinnamon Gardens area in front of the colonial‑style Town Hall and adjacent to the National Museum.
Formerly known as Victoria Park, it is the oldest and largest park in the city and was renamed in 1958 after Queen Viharamahadevi, the mother of King Dutugamunu, to reflect Sri Lankan heritage. The park is known for its lush greenery, shaded palm and flowering trees, paved walking paths, and an artificial lake.
Along with a prominent golden Buddha statue, decorative water fountains, a small open‑air stadium, a mini zoo, and a children’s play area, making it a popular green escape for families, joggers, and visitors seeking a relaxed break in the middle of the busy capital.
