South Sudan
South Sudan is a landlocked country in East Africa, bordered by Sudan, Ethiopia, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, and Kenya. Its capital and largest city is Juba. The population is over 12 million, with significant ethnic diversity, more than 60 major ethnic groups are present.
English is the official language, with many indigenous languages spoken. South Sudan gained independence from Sudan in 2011, making it the world’s newest country. Since independence, it has faced prolonged civil conflict, significant displacement of people, and economic challenges, with an economy primarily reliant on oil and agriculture.
