The Binnenhof is a historic complex of government buildings in the center of The Hague, Netherlands, often regarded as the political heart of the country.

Originally built in the 13th century as a residence for the counts of Holland, it evolved over time into the seat of Dutch national politics and is now home to the States General, the Dutch parliament, as well as the Office of the Prime Minister and various other government offices.

The complex centers on a large inner courtyard with the Ridderzaal (Hall of Knights), a striking Gothic hall that hosts the annual King’s Speech on Prinsjesdag. Today the Binnenhof remains one of the oldest continuously used parliamentary sites in the world, serving both as a working government center and a major tourist attraction in The Hague, although most of the inner courtyard and key buildings are currently closed to the public due to extensive restoration.
