Slot Baarland is a historic water castle in the village of Baarland, Zeeland province, Netherlands, with origins tracing back to the 13th-14th century as a possible motte-and-bailey or tower house structure amid medieval conflicts like the 1295 Flemish invasion. Expanded into a brick water castle by the 17th century under owners like the Van Renesse and Lampsins families, it featured a main bailey with irregular buildings, moats, walls, and towers, later serving as a country estate before the main building's demolition in 1840. Converted into a hunting lodge in 1855 and restored around 1970 with rebuilt lower walls and towers on old foundations, it now stands as a private property with gardens, functioning as an exclusive wedding venue.
