Historic Cannon Val in Chernihiv, Ukraine, refers to the iconic row of twelve 17th-18th century cast-iron bastion cannons lining the edge of Dytynets Park on the ancient Chernihiv citadel hill overlooking the Desna River, remnants of the city's Kievan Rus' fortifications dating back to the 8th century.

Installed in the late 19th century on gun carriages from Kyiv's arsenal as a symbol of Chernihiv's military heritage possibly gifted by Peter I to honor Cossack valor in the Great Northern War, these rough-hewn artillery pieces became the park's signature landmark amid churches, monuments, and earthen ramparts from centuries of Mongol, Lithuanian, Polish, and Russian sieges. 

Today, they frame panoramic views in the National Architectural-Historical Reserve, drawing visitors to this central green space once the heart of a major principality, blending prehistoric settlement layers with Cossack-era defenses.
