Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University is a state-owned higher education institution in Kamianets-Podilskyi, Khmelnytskyi Oblast, recognized at the highest (IV) level of accreditation in Ukraine and founded in 1918 as Kamianets-Podilskyi State Ukrainian University during the Hetmanate of Pavlo Skoropadsky. Named after its first rector, the linguist and statesman Ivan Ohiienko, the university now serves as an important educational, scientific and cultural center for the region, subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. It has several faculties and at least one institute, dozens of departments, and a large teaching staff including Doctors of Science and PhDs, collectively offering bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs across a broad range of disciplines from natural sciences and pedagogy to philology and social sciences. Over its history the university has trained many tens of thousands of graduates for education and other sectors of the economy, maintains numerous scientific schools, research centers and laboratories, and supports a substantial library collection of more than a million documents, highlighting its role as a regional hub for scholarship and professional training.
